Michel Moffatt is a politician running for a Delegate seat in West Virginia and OrgSpring helped develop his campaign site www.Moffatt4Delegate.com.
Mr. Moffatt’s content was fully prepared, as were his campaign materials, logos, and pictures. He was working on a tight budget (as most politicians do) and wanted a very simple, yet elegant website. We were able to provide him with the following website services:
Template Modification – To keep costs low, we chose a premium WordPress template and customized it to include specific campaign related posts and pages like platform issues and endorsements. The site also features a combination Photo/HTML slider linking directly to featured posts and pages highlighted throughout the campaign.
Social Sharing – We added more custom design elements including social sharing buttons and widgetized content to provide the user/viewer with additional related content.
Custom Forms – We added custom forms using the Gravity form plugin, which can be scaled to include more information and other requests as his campaign grows and volunteers are added.
Online Donations – We chose the Fundly donation platform, and integrated it directly into the site. Fundly provides a great platform for politicians because it includes a section for additional donation disclosures, which are more frequently becoming required by law in many states. The Fundly campaign also integrates well with the WordPress platform, and provides several opportunities for the donor to share his or her gift publicly through several social media channels. It has been our experience that as friends see other friends making donations, they too want to help their friends, families, and associates, and the Fundly platform makes that possible. In just a few short days being live, he’s generated almost $1,000 in donations from the platform.
The site was delivered in just a few days, and is an example of how quickly a custom web design can come together when the client is fully engaged and the content/material is prepared well in advance of design time.
