Do What U Say Web Design and Graphics Development

OrgSpring recently designed a site for an educational organization called “Do What U Say,” which teaches people how to lead by example and always deliver on your promises.

Delivering Media

The home page for DWUS was designed to showcase the organization’s main product, a book with 9 principles on how to “live by your word.” The organization delivered a few static logos and a bumper sticker mock-up and we developed all the site graphics, including 3-D versions of the books, binders, folders, and logo graphics. We also turned their bumper sticker design into a website header with 3-D ribbon navigation to match the site colors.

DWUS wanted to deliver their book, for a nominal fee, via digital download which we make available using an online retailer and the PayPal standard gateway. Users can purchase the book and it will be immediately downloadable and also delivered via pdf through email.

Community

DWUS requested an area of the site where users can share their own stories about living the Do What U Say principles. We accomplished that by plugging in and customizing forum software, creating the initial topics, and setting initial user profile. Now users can join the community, post questions or stories, and message other community users.

Email Marketing

We created an Aweber email marketing account for the organization, setup the system for them, designed the welcome list messages, and web forms for use on the site. DWUS sends newsletter messages and weekly tips to members delivering exclusive content not found on the site – particularly tips on how to better live according to the principles of the book. The email list is also integrated with the user-registration system, such that when someone registers for the community they have the option of also registering for email updates. This increases email list signup frequency and conversion.

Store and Shopping Cart

The client wanted a simple e-commerce solution, but didn’t want a full-blown store. We created posts and pages to handle the products and we used E-junkie to handle processing payments, charging shipping and tax, while the client handles the order fulfillment. This was a secure and affordable way of integrating a shopping cart into the new website, but at the same time it allows for scalability and the option to upgrade to a more robust e-commerce solution later.

The site was designed, developed, and delivered in under 2 weeks.
